Marketing Manager At Outdoor Norway
Compensation: Hourly wage based on experience in the position, education level, and language proficiency.
Contract period: Seasonal Position 2026 with a possibility of becoming full time (flexible)
Experience: 7‑10 years marketing, with experience in tourism / outdoor / adventure sectors preferred
Location: Voss, Norway
Outdoor Norway, situated in the heart of Voss – recognized as Norway's Adventure Capital, seeks a talented and self-driven Marketing Manager. You will own Outdoor Norway’s marketing strategy across multiple channels (digital, offline, B2B, and B2C). and execution. You will guide a team of 3-6 people, working to expand awareness, drive bookings, deepen guest engagement, and reinforce our brand values. You’ll report & closely work with Company CEO and collaborate closely with operations, product development, guides, and local partners.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Strategic Planning & Brand Development
- Define and drive the annual and seasonal marketing strategy in alignment with Outdoor Norway’s mission and goals.
- Develop the brand voice and positioning in local and international markets.
2.Campaign & Channel Management
- Oversee digital marketing (SEO/SEM, content, email, social media), offline channels, partnerships, PR, influencer marketing.
- Lead content creation (stories, photo / video, guides, blogs) that communicate the nature / adventure experience.
- Manage acquisition funnels; optimize conversion pathways from awareness → consideration → purchase / booking.
3.Team Leadership & Culture Fit
- Lead, coach, and develop a small team (3‑6), fostering values like efficiency, transparency, loyalty.
- Set KPIs, monitor performance, provide feedback, create professional growth paths.
4.Customer Focus & Guest Experience
- Use customer feedback, reviews, analytics to understand what guests value, optimizing offerings / communications accordingly.
- Ensure marketing reflects the authenticity of the outdoor experiences and preserves the sustainability message.
5.Sustainability & Responsible Travel
- Incorporate sustainability, environmental responsibility into all marketing narratives.
- Work on projects to ensure that marketing choices (partners, imagery, messaging) align with our responsible travel values.
6.Budgeting, Analytics & Reporting
- Own the marketing budget; plan spend across channels; track return on investment (ROI).
- Use data / metrics to evaluate campaign effectiveness; adjust strategies quickly when something isn’t working.
7. Stakeholder / Partner Management
- Collaborate with local partners: tourism boards, accommodations, transport, guides.
- Work with external agencies (ad creatives, digital, PR), influencers, media.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Tourism Management, or related field.
- 7–10 years of progressive marketing experience, preferably in the tourism sector.
- Proven success in leading high-performing marketing teams.
- Experience with international marketing campaigns and brand development.
- Strong knowledge of digital tools: Google Ads, Meta Ads, SEO/SEM, CRM, analytics platforms.
- Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Norwegian is a plus.
- Creative mindset + data‑driven decision making.
- Deep empathy for customer journeys; passion for nature / outdoors / sustainability.
- Ability to work in a fast‑changing, seasonal environment, and adaptability through peak / off‑peak times.
